HOW TO RECEIVE A MIRACLE :SUNDAY OUTLINE  (BRO. EMMA OKORIE)  2ND JULY, 2023

TOPIC: HOW TO RECEIVE A MIRACLE

WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE BEAUTY OF HIS HOLINESS.

His praise will always be on your lips Ps 34:1(KJV)I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

As you serve the Lord and worship him, you receive your miracle – Luke 1:8-20 (NLT)8 One day Zechariah was serving God in the Temple, for his order was on duty that week. 9 As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. 10 While the incense was being burned, a great crowd stood outside, praying. 11 While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. 12 Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. 13 But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. 14 You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15 for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. 16 And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. 17 He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” 18 Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.” 19 Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!

You must not fold your hands.  You must plunge in into action with your whole life unpretending.

Lock yourself and do nothing for days praising and worshipping the Lord.

Acts 16:25-34(NIV)25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God — he and his whole family.

THE NEXT ACTION, MAKE A FORGIVENESS LIST.

Do you think you can receive a miracle with bitterness in your heart?   Think again?

Mark 11:25-26(AMP)25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and  let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings.

If you need a miracle, don’t delay.  Sit down and make a forgiveness list and take action.

From today forward, keep your forgiveness list empty.

SHARPEN YOUR LISTENING SKILLS IN THE HOLY GHOST.

Open every avenue by which you hear the Lord.

Rom 8:14(KJV)14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

God wants you to receive your miracle and he has some special instruction for you.

Elisha went to the cave to hear the voice of the Lord – 1 Kings 19:13-17(KJV)13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.15 And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

Remove all the noise  – outer and inner noise.

When you hear from the Lord, He will give you an instruction He wants you to carry out.

Like the woman of issue of blood – Matt 9:20-22(KJV)20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

To the man with a deformed hand – Matt 12:13(KJV)13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

The Lord is still instructing today such as:

“…Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing! John 9:7(NLT)

“…Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, 8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.( John 2:7-8 NLT)

“ …Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” 9 Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath  (John 5:8-10 NLT)

Instruction always precedes miracles.  Only speak the language of faith which comes from the spirit and not from the head.

Jesus taught us how to speak the language of faith.

Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

YOUR WORDS ARE IMPORTANT. LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR TONGUE.

You can abort miracles with your tongue.

James 3:1-12 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. 3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. 7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12 Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.

DON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

2 Cor 1:20(NLT)20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.

Be careful of people telling you that you can’t survive the illness, because nobody has survived it or you are going to be on  medication for the rest of your life

You think as long as doctors couldn’t do it, nobody can.

Refuse to doubt, don’t be afraid only believe – Luke 8:49-50(NIV)49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher any more.” 50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

James 1:6-8(kJV)6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Refuse to doubt, refuse to fear and refuse to be discouraged.

All these negative actions are operated by the spirit of devil.

Don’t just be complacent, do something.  Faith works

Peter walked on the sea.  Yes, there were many disciples that were in the same ship, in the same situation, but Peter was the only disciple that walked on the sea .

Matt 14:27-30 (NLT)27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” 28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

If you have faith, you would be the only disciple that survived that illness because you put faith in action.

PLAN THE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD

Luke 8:11 (NLT)”This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word.

Abraham answered “God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering”Gen 22:8(KJV)

Peter said “nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. (Luke 5:5-6 KJV)

Rom 10:17(KJV)17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Brood over the word you heard and receive your miracle

LEARN THE ART OF WAITING

Heb 6:11-12(MSG)11 And now I want each of you to extend that same intensity toward a full-bodied hope, and keep at it till the finish. 12 Don’t drag your feet. Be like those who stay the course with committed faith and then get everything promised to them.

Patience holds the door of faith.

Rom 4:20-22(KJV)20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

ACQUIRE A MIRACULOUS MIND-SET.

a miraculous mind-set believes all things are possible.

Mark 9:23(KJV) Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Do you believe am able to do this?

Matt 9:28-30 (KJV)28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

Mark 10:52(KJV)52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
