TOPIC: THE POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS

There is power in the blood of Jesus to wash away the sins of the world  and to heal every manner of sickness and whatever the devil has done unto man.

Medical science says babies get their blood from their fathers.  Two men or three  cannot be a father of one baby.  What can be done to determine the real father of  a baby requires taking a sample of the blood of the father and match it with the baby’s blood .  When the scientist sees a resemblance of the blood between the baby and the father he can  quickly point at the father – the blood is the proof of  the real father.

Who is the father of Jesus?  God is the father.

If Joseph had been the father of Jesus,  the blood of Jesus would have been sinful and contaminated.

The bible takes out time to tell us the birth of Jesus Christ.

Luke gave us a clear point on this.  He was a medical Doctor

Mary tell me, how did you conceive? She replied ‘I conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Luke 1:26-35 (NKJV)26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David.Thevirgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her,”Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”  29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”  34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”  35 And the angel answered and said to her,”The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God

The Angel also went to Joseph – Matt 1:18-21 (NKJV)18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

That is the center of the power in the blood of Jesus. That is why the bible calls the blood of Jesus precious? Because the Father of Jesus is not an earthly Father but heavenly.

1 Peter 1:18-19(KJV) 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Acts 20:28(KJV)28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

One drop of His precious blood is powerful to break every curse.

There is power, power wonder working power in the blood of Jesus.(song)

The life of man and animal is in the blood.

Lev 17:11(KJV) For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Adam’s covering himself with an ordinary leave couldn’t wash away his sins. 

What can wash away our sins is the blood of Jesus.(song)

As soon as the blood of Jesus dropped, restrictions to the temple broke apart. Matt 27:50-54 (NLT)50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, 52 and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. 53 They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people. 54 The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”

The devil understands the theology of the blood of  Jesus.

Heb 9:22 (KJV)And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Col. 2:15

If you can imagine what the power of sacrifice of the blood of animal can do, how much more the blood of Jesus?

v 1 Sam 7:9-10 (KJV)9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the Lord: and Samuel cried unto the Lord for Israel; and the Lord heard him. 10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

The blood sacrifice broke the bondage of slavery in Egypt. ‘If I see the blood I will pass over.’

Ex 12:21-23 (KJV)21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. 22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. 23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

Let us concentrate on how much more the blood of Jesus will cleanse and sanctify us from every unrighteousness .

Faith in the blood of Jesus.

Whatever redemptive power God has provided, if you don’t apply faith, you cannot receive miracle. So also faith in the blood of Jesus will make you whole.

The name of Jesus is powerful.  Peter said “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. (Acts 3:16)

The blood of Jesus is the sacrament of Holy Communion we eat.  When you connect it with faith you will be made  whole.

The effect of the blood of Jesus is obvious in the Holy communion. –

Matt 26:26-28(KJV) 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

1 Cor. 11:23-25

The Lord Jesus gave a command ‘except you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you don’t have life in you. That is how powerful it is.

John 6:53-58 (KJV)53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

The new covenant is established in the blood .

Luke 22:20 (NLT)After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.

V28 “You have stayed with me in my time of trial. 29 And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right 30 to eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

We were able to conquer the accuser of the brethren because of Christ sacrifice of His blood  – Rev 12:11a(kJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;

You cannot be introduced to the gate of heaven without the blood.

Rev 7:13-17 (NLT)13 Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?” 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. 15 “That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter. 16 They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. 17 For the Lamb on the throne  will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Our peace with God depends on the blood –  Col 1:20-22 (KJV)20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled . 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

In Him we have redemption  through his blood – Eph 1:7 (KJV)7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

1 John 1:7(KJV)7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The law requires that everything be cleansed with the blood .

Heb 9:22(KJV) (KJV)22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

With the blood of Jesus  you can enter into the holiest.  Heb 10:16-20 (KJV)16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

We are made holy by the blood.

Heb 13:11-13 (NLT)11 Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp. 12 So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood.

Rom 5:9-10(NLT)9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
