TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME
God baptizes individuals according to the specific work He has called them to accomplish.
Luke 4:18-19KJV)18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Matt 3:16(KJV)16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
This is established other, the Spirit of God must come upon you – Acts 1:8(KJV)8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The spirit of the Lord came upon Elijah – 1 Kings 18:46(NIV)46 The power of the Lord came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

The spirit of the Lord came upon Ezekiel – Ezek 37:1-3(NLT)The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. 2 He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. 3 Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?”
The Spirit of the Lord is responsible for prophetic insight.
Ezek 11:5-6(NLT)5 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and he told me to say, “This is what the Lord says to the people of Israel: I know what you are saying, for I know every thought that comes into your minds. 6 You have murdered many in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
The spirit of the Lord came upon David – 1 Sam 16:13(KJV)13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
The spirit of the Lord came upon Saul – 1 Sam 10:5-7(NLT)5 “When you arrive at Gibeah of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is located, you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the place of worship. They will be playing a harp, a tambourine, a flute, and a lyre, and they will be prophesying. 6 At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.
The Spirit of God has extraordinary power and energy.
The spirit of the Lord came upon Sampson Judg 15:14-16(NLT) As Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his arms as if they were burnt strands of flax, and they fell from his wrists. 15 Then he found the jawbone of a recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed 1,000 Philistines with it.
The spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon – Judg 6:34-35(NLT)34 Then the Spirit of the Lord took possession of Gideon. He blew a ram’s horn as a call to arms, and the men of the clan of Abiezer came to him.
The impossibility is done when the Spirit of God comes upon you.
The spirit of the Lord came upon Mary – Luke 1:35(NLT)35 The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God
The spirit of the Lord came upon Moses and he transferred the Spirit of God upon Joshua; the Spirit of God is transferable.
Num 11:24-25(KJV)24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
Num 27:15-21(NLT)15 Then Moses said to the Lord, 16 “O Lord, you are the God who gives breath to all creatures. Please appoint a new man as leader for the community. 17 Give them someone who will guide them wherever they go and will lead them into battle, so the community of the Lord will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”18 The Lord replied, “Take Joshua son of Nun, who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him. 19 Present him to Eleazar the priest before the whole community, and publicly commission him to lead the people. 20 Transfer some of your authority to him so the whole community of Israel will obey him. 21 When direction from the Lord is needed, Joshua will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will use the Urim—one of the sacred lots cast before the Lord—to determine his will. This is how Joshua and the rest of the community of Israel will determine everything they should do.”
Deut 34:9(NLT)9 Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him, doing just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
The Spirit of intercession enables us to intercede with deep groaning that words cannot express. It empowers believers to align with God’s heart and purposes in prayer. Rom. 8:26
The Spirit is responsible for every manner of work supernaturally.
The Spirit of prophecy – Rev 19:10(KJV)10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Faith is a vital component of the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit of faith comes upon you, it boldly declares what God believes, empowering you to act with confidence in His promises.
2 Cor 4:13(KJV)13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
The spirit of truth – John 16:13(KJV)13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
The spirit of holiness – Rom 1:4(KJV)4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Everything we do emanate from the spirit.
2 Tim 1:7(KJV)7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Isa 11:2(KJV)2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
The Spirit of the Lord determines the extent to which God can use you. It is He who decides whom to use, how to use them, and to what purpose.1 Kings 22:24-28(NLT)24 Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face. “Since when did the Spirit of the Lord leave me to speak to you?” he demanded.25 And Micaiah replied, “You will find out soon enough when you are trying to hide in some secret room!”26 “Arrest him!” the king of Israel ordered. “Take him back to Amon, the governor of the city, and to my son Joash. 27 Give them this order from the king: ‘Put this man in prison, and feed him nothing but bread and water until I return safely from the battle!'”28 But Micaiah replied, “If you return safely, it will mean that the Lord has not spoken through me!” Then he added to those standing around, “Everyone mark my words!”

And they said, Unto John’s baptism.4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
