TOPIC: WITH GOD

Every child of God must develop and cultivate an Omnipotent mind-set rooted in God’s power.  Belief in God  is incomplete without  the revelation of His supreme power, the very power that created the universe and everything within it.

Our subject matter today is ‘with God nothing is impossible’

Luke 1:34-37(KJV) 34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

If there is anything Christians are grappling with today, it is how to tackle the overwhelming problems we face on a daily basis.

Matt 19:23-26(NIV)23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

He is always by our side.

Rom 8:31-39 (MSG)31 So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? 32 If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? 33 And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? 34 Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us — who was raised to life for us! — is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. 35 Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: 36 They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. 37 None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. 38 I’m absolutely convinced that nothing — nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, 39 high or low, thinkable or unthinkable — absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.

v With Him, we can run through a troop and scale a wall.  His ways are perfect .

In Ps 18:28  David’s shared a testimony of the power that God gave him to win every battle.  God empowered David to run through a troop, and leap over a wall.  His life was a meeting with battles and he won everyone.

Ps 18:28-29(KJV)28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. 29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

2 Sam 22:30 (NLT)30 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.

God’s purpose cannot be thwarted.

Isa 14:26-27(NKJV)26 This is the purpose that is purposed against the whole earth, And this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.  27 For the Lord of hosts has purposed, And who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, And who will turn it back?”

Things began to change for Job when he acknowledged the supremacy of God.

Job 42:2(NIV)2 “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.

The Lord asked the blind men , do you believe that I am able to do this? Matt 9:28-30(NIV)28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”;  30 and their sight was restored. ,,,”

If God is with you no one will be able to stand against you.

Gen 28:20-22(NIV)20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father’s house, then the Lord  will be my God 22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Deut 11:23-25(MSG) 23 God on his part will drive out all these nations that stand in your way. Yes, he’ll drive out nations much bigger and stronger than you. 24 Every square inch on which you place your foot will be yours. Your borders will stretch from the wilderness to the mountains of Lebanon, from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. 25 No one will be able to stand in your way. Everywhere you go, God-sent fear and trembling will precede you, just as he promised.

The most important thing everyone is looking for is to be at peace with God and receive His favour

It saddens me  to hear a child of God highlight the ability of satan . Jehoshaphat remembered the power of God.

2 Chron 20:5-9(KJV)5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. (read on)

For in all that we do –whether in word or deed,  we must do it in the name of the Lord,  because in Him, we cannot fail. You are filled with the invocation you are making in the name of the Lord.

Col 3:16-17(KJV)16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Why is God so powerful?  His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts’

For with God all things are possible.

Isa 55:8-12(KJV)8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Jesus possesses all power, with him our ministry is possible.

Matt 28:18-20(KJV)And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Col 2:10(KJV) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

V15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

We are joint heirs with Christ in this power .

Rom 8:17(NLT)17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

The ultimate power is with you and that is the name of Jesus.

Phil 2:9-11(KJV)9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
