TOPIC: SOW TO YOURSELF…..
It takes effort and care to sow seeds.
You can sow fellowship, relationships, and family bonds, and reap the goodness from them all.
There are two kinds of seeds in the world: good and bad. Both have the same potential for multiplying.
The evil you sow multiplies quickly and is highly infectious .
Gal 5:9(KJV) A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
We can only combat it by sowing love, righteousness, and other virtues.
He who does good, does good to himself.
Hos 10:12(KJV)12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Anyone who rewards good with iniquity, iniquity will not depart from his house.
Prov 17:13(NIV)If a man pays back evil for good, evil will never leave his house.
After working for the government or wicked individuals, and they refuse to pay you. It echoes why David wanted to kill Nabal, the wicked husband of Abigail.
1 Sam 25:2-17(NKJV)2 Now there was a man in Maon whose business was in Carmel, and the man was very rich. He had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats. And he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. 3 The name of the man was Nabal, and the name of his wife Abigail. And she was a woman of good understanding and beautiful appearance; but the man was harsh and evil in his doings. He was of the house of Caleb. 4 When David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep, 5 David sent ten young men; and David said to the young men, “Go up to Carmel, go to Nabal, and greet him in my name. 6 And thus you shall say to him who lives in prosperity: ‘Peace be to you, peace to your house, and peace to all that you have! 7 Now I have heard that you have shearers. Your shepherds were with us, and we did not hurt them, nor was there anything missing from them all the while they were in Carmel. 8 Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a feast day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son David.'” 9 So when David’s young men came, they spoke to Nabal according to all these words in the name of David, and waited. 10 Then Nabal answered David’s servants, and said,”Who is David, and who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants nowadays who break away each one from his master. 11 Shall I then take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men when I do not know where they are from?” 12 So David’s young men turned on their heels and went back; and they came and told him all these words. 13 Then David said to his men, “Every man gird on his sword.” So every man girded on his sword, and David also girded on his sword. And about four hundred men went with David, and two hundred stayed with the supplies. 14 Now one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, “Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master; and he reviled them. 15 But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, nor did we miss anything as long as we accompanied them, when we were in the fields. 16 They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the time we were with them keeping the sheep. 17 Now therefore, know and consider what you will do, for harm is determined against our master and against all his household. For he is such a scoundrel that one cannot speak to him.” (Read on)
Your work is your worship.
God desires worshippers and has ordained work as a significant way to worship Him. So, how do we ensure we worship God in our work and as we work?
Col 3:23-25(NLT)23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. 25 But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.
John 4:23-24(KJV)23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Col 3:17(TLB)17 And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come with him into the presence of God the Father to give him your thanks.
“I have dedicated my life to healing the sick and performing miracles for others. Am I not deserving of reaping the good from these deeds?
1 Cor 9:10-12 (NIV) yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. 11 If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? 12 If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more?
Should I not be the first to partake in the salvation, healing, joy, and peace for which I labor on behalf of others?”
2 Tim 2:6(KJV)6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
No virtue is as protected as the good you sow in the kingdom of God.
This is the benefit of sowing.
Matt 6:19-21(NLT)19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Everyone’s wage will be given accordingly.
Prov 11:18-19(NIV)The wicked man earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. 19 The truly righteous man attains life, but he who pursues evil goes to his death.
1 Cor 3:8-9(NLT)8 The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. 9 For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
Rev 22:12-13 (NLT)12 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.
This is the constitution of the judgment seat of Christ.
Different kinds of rewards and crowns will be allocated, and so many will reap nothing because they sowed nothing .
1 Thess 2:19-20(TLB)19 For what is it we live for, that gives us hope and joy and is our proud reward and crown? It is you! Yes, you will bring us much joy as we stand together before our Lord Jesus Christ when he comes back again. 20 For you are our trophy and joy.
1 Cor 9:24-27(NIV)24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
2 Tim 4:7-8(NLT)7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 8 And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.
Let us not be weary in well-doing, for it has a reward. – Gal 6:9-10(NIV)9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
There is no room for the lazy drone .
Prov 6:9-11(NLT)9 But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up? 10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— 11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; Scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
Prov 13:4(KJV)the soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
2 Thess 3:10-13(TLB)10 Even while we were still there with you, we gave you this rule: “He who does not work shall not eat.” 11 Yet we hear that some of you are living in laziness, refusing to work, and wasting your time in gossiping. 12 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we appeal to such people-we command them-to quiet down, get to work, and earn their own living. 13 And to the rest of you I say, dear brothers, never be tired of doing right.
Sowers of discord, liars, friends of two enemies. Untrustworthy men, night operators, intruders, and gossips.
When you see your children or family, you will see a reflection of yourself, whether in the negative or positive.
Your were once a good family but were destroyed by satan, who visited eve with the seed of discord in the garden.
Prov 6:12-15(TLB)12-13 Let me describe for you a worthless and a wicked man; first, he is a constant liar; he signals his true intentions to his friends with eyes and feet and fingers. 14 He is always thinking up new schemes to swindle people. He stirs up trouble everywhere. 15 But he will be destroyed suddenly, broken beyond hope of healing.
Prov 6:16-19(KJV)16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Rom 16:17-18(KJV)17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
