TOPIC: COMPEL THEM TO COME IN
Many do not have vision of the permanent resident.
Luke 14:16-23(KJV)16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
I feel in such a haste to go out and obey this commandment by compelling those who are now tarring in the high ways and hedges to come in.
I can’t wait for an introduction; there is no time to waste. Time is very short.
There is a battle for soul winning going on right now more than the time Jesus commissioned and commanded us to go into the world and preach the gospel.
It is a spiritual warfare.
No one says it is easy, but Jesus said for this purpose the son of man was made manifest.
1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
In other scriptures He says “ I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John 9:4 (kJV))
The urgency of the work he was manifested to do – Luke 19:10 (NLT)10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Compel them to come in, force them, persuade them, use every wisdom and gifts of the Holy Ghost to compel them. This is not only come to my church.
Any minister that worth its salt, that has received the revelation of heaven and hell, will know that Jesus’ Number one job is soul winning.
He caught Saul on his way to Damascus.
Paul inquired from his captors ‘who art thou?’ Jesus answered, I am Jesus, the Savior, the Messiah who thou persecutes” then he asked ‘What will you have me do?’
Evangelism and soul winning are the main hub of what Jesus will want any believer to do.
Acts 9:5-16(NLT)5 “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked.And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! 6 Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” 7 The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! 8 Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. 9 He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.10 Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied.11 The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. 12 I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.” 13 “But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! 14 And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.”15 But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. 16 And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
Straight way Paul preached Christ.
What is the word compel, persuade?
King Agrippa said “thou persuades me to be a Christian – Acts 26:28-29(NLT)28 Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?” 29 Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”
Jesus said go to the highways and hedges. Everywhere human beings are located, no matter where they are hiding, in clubs, on the streets etc. provided they are human beings, compel them to come into the kingdom.
There is no work of ministry without soul winning.
The price of soul – Mark 8:36-38(NLT)36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? 37 Is anything worth more than your soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
So many Christians are contented and satisfied with their religious obligations while neglecting and pretending not to see the souls perishing or hear the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ on this – Matt 28:18-20(KJV)18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The power that is needed has been giving.
This was the first commission and mandate of Jesus Christ to the disciples .
Luke 9:1-2(TLB) One day Jesus called together his twelve apostles and gave them authority over all demons-power to cast them out-and to heal all diseases. 2 Then he sent them away to tell everyone about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Luke 10:1-9(KJV)After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
V17-20(KJV)17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Folks are scrambling to enter the kingdom, but there is no witness and there is no preacher.
Matt 9:37-38(TLB)37 “The harvest is so great, and the workers are so few,” he told his disciples. 38 “So pray to the one in charge of the harvesting, and ask him to recruit more workers for his harvest fields.”
I don’t know what you do with the Holy Ghost you received – Acts 1:8(KJV)8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord over principalities and powers.
Proclaim Him as the only sacrifice that can save the world.
Rom 5:8(KJV)8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16(KJV)16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There is something about the good news whenever you speak it. There is an awesome sense of joy, happiness and liberation.
If the son of man shall set us free, we are free indeed.
When does it take a person to go to heaven? Immediately he believes in Christ; he changed position.
Luke 23:39-43(NLT)39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
